A young teacher Ondřej Šmíd is coming back to his hometown to celebrate his grandfather´s 70th birthday. He expects, that he will find a peaceful and idyllic flat, but instead of it he finds secrets, injustices and and memories, which can not be forgotten, even after the years. The novel leads its readers to 2011 and also to the end of the war, to the Bohemian forest and Zemplínská Šírava and also to the streets of Pilsen- „the most american city in Europe“, which stood against the currency reforma t the beginning of 50.
