Suchy literary festival / Exhibition opening of Jiri Suchy´s graphics and litographies

The exhibition in Educational and Research Library of Pilsen Region shows lesser known Jiri Suchy´s graphic arts. In spite of the fact that his former job was commercional graphic, his successes in theatre, radio and television put this hobby aside. He came back to the graphic art in 70´s, when communist régime allowed him work only in theatre Semafor and banished him from all the other media. Jiri Suchy made plenty of litographics at that time, which less or more accompany his theatre and text works. Suchy´s poetry has original graphic art and gives us an idea about their creation and time up till now.

Film and theatre actor, screenplays writer,texts author, writer and the man of plenty other talents was always interested in movies. He directed only the tragicomedy The Bride (1970), which was shot shortly before the coming of normalisation. Surrealistic and poetic movie is the proof of his talent.
