Mirka Nová / David Šlajs – Stones / paintings

The exhibition shows a selection of current works by two artists from the different generations, who are connected by friendship and also by a spontaneous and original approach to the conception of a concept of artistic art.
Miroslava Nová creates statues from the stones from limestone mines. These statues are dialog between author and nature, which is perceived by all the senses. She is not enforcing her vision to the stone, but in a creative proces she reveals its hidden shapes to the organic forms, and the stone came to life.
David Šlajs works with painting tools, mostly with colours in their primary intense form. His paintings are showing the color relationships without the need of subject expressions. Neverthless there is a strong feeling of reality, expressed by the speech of colors, lines and shapes. Both authors show us by their works, that non figurative art can become a holder of extraordinary intense message.
