Michal Kohout – America’s Big Debates (What are the issues that Americans talk / think about the most, and what are their likely outcomes.)
America’s Big Debates As we are approaching towards the 2016 presidential elections there is intense public focus on several key issues that will most likely determine the future policy trajectories of the US government. The economy is always the most important issue for Americans. But this time it is wealth distribution rather than economic growth which seems to be the focus of debate. Climate change is also gaining momentum as a big debate in the US. Many Americans may be ambivalent about the cause of climate change but they feel its impacts and want solutions. Immigration reform is a big debate that will resurface again because of the continuous social fallout due to government inaction.
