The Department of Training and Organisation of Librarianship arose on the basis of a decision dated 16th January 2002 on a support programme covering the function of regional libraries.
- it provides the agenda for communication with libraries in the region, with other regional libraries and other professional libraries
- collaborates with the Librarianship Institute of the National Library of the Czech Republic
- runs and updates the reference library containing professional literature on librarianship
- processes summaries of statistical statements of libraries in the Pilsen region
- coordinates regional public libraries in the Pilsen region
- provides methodological assistance to public libraries in the Pilsen region
- is organisationally responsible for events of the SVK PK Education Centre
- represents the SVK PK at SKIP and SDRUK events, as well as at events of other professional bodies
- organises courses in information literacy for employees of public libraries funded by the VISK2 grant programme of the Ministry of Culture of the Czech Republic
